Contiki is great for people who are young, love partying, enjoy drinking, and who like spending the majority of their time on a coach being herded around like sheep. I haven been with any other organised tour groups, but I prefer travelling independently and spending time seeing the sights that I want to see, and enjoying the trip instead of waking up with a hangover every day. The choice for breakfast was often toast and boiled eggs, and trust me, you get tired of boiled eggs after 10 days on tour.
The other thing on Contiki is that you in shared rooms if you stay in hotels, and often you only given one key between four people. If you out on the town, and feel like an early night, you have to find the person who has your room key. I haven't traveled with Contiki, but i've traveled with EFCB three times in different areas of the world and each trip was great. I went on Spanish Fiesta, Exotic, Thailand, and the Greek Isles. The Greek Isles Trip is by far the most laid back of the three. There is plenty of free time at every island and it does not feel like structured tour. It was my favorite of the three and I would highly recommend it.
During the greek isles tour we went to Athens, the Mykinos,[url=http://www.floware.fr]www.floware.fr[/url], then Santorini (which was home to the most beautful sunset I've ever seen) and then Ios before returning to Athens. The islands were a great mix of relaxing, greek culture, and partying (ios). I would highly recommend this trip and one plus is there is very little time on a tour bus which is really refreshing.
